WATERBURY, Vt. (WCAX) - New rules started on Sept. 15 to remain eligible for food stamps nationwide.

The Trump administration has implemented a work requirement for those up to 64. It used to be 55.

Other than that, the large majority of Vermonters won’t see major changes to their Three Squares Vermont benefits.

Starting Oct. 1, many will actually see monthly payments go up by about $5 or stay the same. But 2,600 households will see theirs cut by about $100.
