LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) — The center of the golfing universe is moving to Bethpage Black Golf Course on Long Island very soon, with the 2025 Ryder Cup coming to town.

Golf fans from around the world, including President Donald Trump, will descend upon Long Island's signature, and notoriously its most challenging, golf course at Bethpage State Park next week.

With such a high volume of patrons expected over the course of the week between Sept. 22 and Sept. 28, the New York State Troopers announced their plans for road closures and heightened public safety measures.

There were concerns leading up to the event about whether or not the Long Island Rail Road would be a viable option with a possible strike of union workers this week.
