PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) - A special election is now set to fill the New York Assembly seat vacated by Billy Jones.
Gov. Kathy Hochul says it will be held to coincide with the general election on Nov. 4.
The presumptive nominees are Plattsburgh Town Supervisor Michael Cashman, a Democrat, and retired New York State Police Major Brent Davison, a Republican.
Jones announced earlier this summer that he was stepping down to take a job at Clinton Community College.
