Permian’s offense had its best performance of the season with last week’s 38-21 win against Abilene High.

After consecutive games of being held to 30-points or less, the Panthers had their best offensive production, which included a 21-point surge in the second quarter to take a 21-7 halftime lead and not look back.

“I thought we struggled there in the first quarter but I was pleased with our kids being resilient,” Permian head coach Jeff Ellison said. “We had a good second quarter and came on and scored 21 points.”

It was 31-14 in the fourth quarter as Permian (2-1) cruised to its second consecutive victory of the season.
