WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - On September 3, Kansas saw one of its worst hailstorms in recent history. It dropped baseball-size hail from Salina to Wichita, damaging everything from plants to cars, and possibly the most costly, homes.
Home improvement experts estimate that anywhere from 100,000 to more than 140,000 homes were damaged during the storm.
“Historically, this is probably one of the biggest hailstorms that we’ve seen,” said All States Home Improvement owner Cris Keeter.
Keeter started the Wichita business in 1992, around the same time of another memorable hail storm.
“At the time, it was the biggest hail storm,” he said. “This may go down as bigger than the storm that happened in 1992.”
Keeter said when you do the math, over 100,000 homes at $15,000-$18,000 to replace the roof, t
