Internet detectives have uncovered evidence that the Minnesota Vikings may be “faking” quarterback JJ McCarthy’s injury.

On Monday, the Vikings announced that JJ McCarthy will miss 2-4 weeks with a high-ankle sprain. McCarthy had a rough performance against the Atlanta Falcons on “Sunday Night Football”, completing just 11 passes for 158 yards, no touchdowns and three turnovers in a disappointing 22-6 loss.

With McCarthy sidelined, backup Carson Wentz will get the nod for Sunday’s Week 3 home contest against the Joe Burrow-less Cincinnati Bengals. The Vikings signed Wentz on Aug. 24.

But internet sleuths are wondering if JJ McCarthy is actually injured, or if the Vikings are just faking the whole thing to protect him from getting banged up behind that leaky offensive line.
