MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — State officials, lawmakers and first responders got a behind-the-scenes look of the Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory on Tuesday in honor of National Forensic Science Week.

This week is all about raising awareness and showing the work that these professionals do, according to Jeremy Miller, the acting chief of staff scientific services with the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection.

"It just highlights and shows the important work that forensic laboratories are doing trying to reach out to legislators' people that make the decisions on funding to help support forensic laboratories throughout the country," Miller said.
