HARTFORD, Conn. — The chairperson for the regulation group that oversees utility rates in Connecticut will be stepping down from her position next month, Gov. Ned Lamont announced Friday.

In a letter to the governor, Marissa Gillett, chair of the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA), said she will step down, effective Friday, Oct. 10.

“Marissa is one of the most experienced and qualified public utility regulators in the country,” Lamont said in a statement. “Her breadth of knowledge, analytical skillset and experience in energy policy, combined with her commitment to fairness and her ability to navigate complex cases were beneficial to our state and ratepayers.
