Met Office issues yellow weather for south west ahead of strong forecast winds

A 13-hour yellow weather warning has been issued covering Bristol, Gloucestershire and Somerset. The Met Office issued the warning on X stating: 'Yellow warning of wind affecting South West England'.

It says there is a developing area of low pressure which may produce a short spell of very strong winds. The warning runs from 3pm today to 4am tomorrow morning.

The winds are forecast strengthen across some western and southwestern areas, before heading northeastwards, clearing into the North Sea during the early hours of Sunday morning (September 21).

Areas affected in the South West include:

Bath and North East Somerset

Bristol

Devon

Gloucestershire

North Somerset

Somerset

South Gloucestershire

Wiltsh
