KILLEEN, Texas — Parents of young, ravenous readers in Killeen ISD are about to get access to their children's reading history, the district announced Monday.
According to the district, a free online service called Bookmarked allows parents to receive a notice anytime their child borrows a book from school libraries.
Rayanne Polm, librarian at Reeces Creek Elementary and the district’s elementary lead, said the service could strengthen connections between home and school.
“Traditionally families connect with the teachers, since they have the most interactions with their students,” she said. “I think this is a great opportunity for the librarians and the families to strengthen our partnerships.”
