RIPLEY, Tenn. (WMC) - Lauderdale County Sheriff Brian Kelley says one of his correctional officers has been fired following his arrest for alleged methamphetamine possession.

The now-former officer, identified as 42-year-old Ryan Nagy, of Covington, was booked in the neighboring Tipton County late Thursday night.

His arrest came after a traffic stop and search on Highway 51, according to documents from the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office.

Nagy now faces charges of meth possession, violation of vehicle registration law, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Kelley says he fully supports the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office in the arrest, “as we will never tolerate this behavior from an employee.”
