HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - The Evansville Fraternity of Police Lodge is accepting donations to help support medical expenses and support the family of a local officer who was shot while on duty over the weekend.

Evansville Police Officer Sam Taylor was injured while responding to a report of a stolen vehicle early Sunday morning. During a press conference, Police Chief Philip Smith said Taylor may lose the use of his legs as a result of his injuries.

The FOP Lodge says they hope to give back to Officer Taylor after he dedicated his life to protecting others. Donations can be made online here, or by sending a check to:
