KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Advisory Committee for the 18th & Vine Streetcar Expansion Feasibility Study met for the first time on Monday.

The oversight committee is made up of community leaders, as well as property and business owners in the district. They will explore the possibility of extending the streetcar with an east/west line on 18th Street to the historic 18th & Vine District.

“People know Kansas City for really three things: jazz, barbecue, and sports, all of which are indigenous to the third District. So anything we can do to live up to what people expect when they come to Kansas City, that's what we're trying to do,” said Councilwoman Melissa Patterson Hazley.
