KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- On Monday, the Kansas City Missouri Police Department released a video of their new blue light car feature on Facebook.

These new car features are intended to increase visibility and deter criminal activity.

Hayden Fowler manages the Pizza Shuttle in the crossroads and says this change may help people feel safe overall but acknowledged some of the hesitance people may feel about extra police presence.

"It's generally more comforting to be able to spot police from a great distance because a lot of police vehicles are painted in a way that you generally can't tell if it's just a dark blue Ford Escape or law enforcement," Fowler said.
