Fall officially began at 11:19 Monday morning, but Northern California is hanging onto peak summer weather for a bit longer.

High temperatures are forecast to reach the triple digits in some Valley cities on Tuesday, including Vacaville, Fairfield and Stockton. Sacramento's forecast high is 99 degrees.

While these numbers are not expected to set new records, it is getting late in the season for 100 degree days. Sacramento's most recent day above 100 this year is September 2nd. The average last 100 degree day is September 9th. Last year, Sacramento hit 100 for the final time on October 10th.

The Foothills will also feel the heat with morning temperatures near 70 degrees and afternoon highs in the mid 90s.
