Jaguar Land Rover, the UK’s biggest carmaker, has been forced to extend its shutdown until at least October 1 after a cyberattack that halted production for several weeks.

The firm said it was still working to restart operations, which have affected other companies and workers throughout the supply chain.

Government ministers said they were working closely with JLR on what they described as the ‘new and growing threat’ of cyberattacks.
