MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) - Nearly 12 years after the initial report, a man in Wisconsin has been arrested for alleged sexual assault after a DNA sample found a hit in a national FBI database.
According to the Madison Police Department, a call came in shortly after 2 a.m. on November 3, 2013, that a woman had been sexually assaulted.
Officers responded to the 200 block of South Hancock Street and met with the victim, taking her to the hospital to receive treatment. Investigation revealed that the victim was at a concert with friends and became separated from them.
An unknown man who reportedly offered to assist her ended up attacking and sexually assaulting her in a parking lot. Officials identified DNA evidence from the alleged attacker, and it had circulated in the Combined DNA Index Syste
