3 children rescued from Middlefield apartment building fire

MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio (WOIO) - Middlefield firefighters rescued three children from an apartment building fire on Monday evening.

The fire began around 5 p.m. on the 17300 block of Kinsman Road in Middlefield Township, according to a Facebook post from Middlefield Fire Department.

Crews found several apartment on both floors of the apartment building on fire, the post said.

Firefighters rescued an adult and three children from one of the apartments on fire. Paramedics evaluated them ono scene, but there were no serious injuries, according to the post.

The fire was under control within 25 minutes of Middlefield Fire Department arriving on scene.

The Geauga County Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
