LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Healthcare services for people in Livingston Parish are expanding. For the first time in decades, hospital beds will now be available at the Our Lady of the Lake campus in Walker.
“We’re here to grow,” said Ben Schuler, VP Regional COO for Our Lady of the Lake Health. “This is the next step for this Livingston campus.”
A space at Our Lady of the Lake’s campus in Walker will soon be transformed into an overnight emergency observation unit. It will be the first and only around the clock unit of its kind in the parish.
“When people come in need, they want to stay close to family, and this is the next step to keep them overnight if they’re needed,” explained Chuck Spicer, President of OLOL Health.
The $5 million space will be outfitted with 10 hospital beds
