Sending mail via the U.S. Postal Service will cost extra from now through the holiday season.
The peak-season pricing affects prices on the following retail and commercial domestic competitive parcels: Priority Mail Express (PME), Priority Mail (PM), USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select. The temporary rates go into effect at midnight Central on Oct. 5 and remain in place until midnight Central on Jan. 18, 2026.
The U.S. Postal Service said in a press release that the "temporary price adjustment is to help cover extra handling costs to ensure a successful peak season."
The planned price changes include:

Priority Mail and USPS Ground Advantage : Zone 1-4
$0.40 cents increase for Zones 1-4, 0-3 lbs.
$0.60 cents increase for Zones 1-4, 4-10 lbs.
$0.95 cents increase for Z
