GREENBELT, Md. (DC News Now) -- Greenbelt police are looking for the people responsible for two deadly shootings at the Franklin Park Apartments that happened over the weekend.

"Both of these incidents are extraordinarily tragic," Greenbelt Police Department Chief Richard Bowers said.

Sunday saw a 14-year-old boy lose his life to gun violence. His death came nearly 24 hours after the loss of 25-year-old Juan Gonzalez.

"Two young individuals, at 25 and 14, who have been taken from this planet and can't ever come back," Bowers said.

Police are not releasing the name of the 14-year-old. Bowers did not say if the child lived in the apartment complex. But he did live in the city, whereas Gonzalez did not.
