KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Outgoing and kind, that's how loved ones describe 16-year-old Ta’Kori Jones, who was killed in a shooting near the Bay Water Park on Saturday.

Kansas City police say shots were fired at a playground adjacent to the water park. As it was closed, the gates restricted access to the driveway.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Family members describe Ta'Kori Jones as a good kid who was loved by many.

On Monday, his loved ones stopped by a growing memorial at the playground near the Bay Water Park.

“Ta'Kori was really loved. We are here full-fledged for him. It is just messed up that we can't wake up with him tomorrow, and that is just sad,” his mom, Hameena Bynum, said.
