MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Montgomery County officers chased a car after an incident on Monday, police said.

The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said that officers got a report that an "armed acquaintance" was holding a woman against her will. Officers responded to Westlake Drive and Democracy Boulevard around 4:15 p.m.

Responding officers found the involved vehicle and tried to stop it, but the vehicle drove off. Officers followed, initiating a chase that went through Bethesda and onto Interstate 495 before ending safely in White Oak on Lockwood Drive.

There, MCPD took the suspect into custody.

Police said that the victim, an adult, was uninjured. No bystanders or officers were reported to be injured in the incident either.
