PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A jury awarded a former Prince George's County Police Department officer $2.3 million in a lawsuit against the police department.
In the suit, Mohamed Magassouba claimed that he was discriminated against and faced a hostile work environment after he said he refused to lie on an arrest report.
The lawsuit claimed that in January 2019, he and another officer responded to a report of disorderly conduct. Magassouba claimed that the other officer, who was white, used unjustified force on a potential suspect during what Magassouba said was an unlawful arrest.
