NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Efforts are underway to return the body of an innocent man killed last Thursday night to his home country of Colombia after he became the victim of a tragic case of mistaken identity.

Police say Marco Ramirez was shot and killed after the gunman thought he was someone else. In reality, Marco was simply returning home with a pizza after working all day as a handyman in the Music Row area.

Michael Chera, who became friends with Marco after meeting him at Home Depot, remembers the man who spent his days fixing up properties throughout Music Row.

“I mean, he was so nice and there was just something about him that you could tell was likable,” Chera said.
