Just two weeks before it was scheduled to get underway, Brian Walshe's murder trial has been delayed amid concerns his attorneys have regarding his competency to stand trial.
Walshe, accused of murdering his wife, Ana, on New Year's 2023, has been ordered by Judge Diane Freniere to be evaluated at Bridgewater State Hospital for 20 days to determine whether he is able to stand trial, according to the court docket.

A final pre-conference hearing that was set for Tuesday, and the trial set to start on Oct. 20 have both been rescheduled, court records show.
The postponement of the high profile trial was prompted by the defendant's attorneys and opposed by prosecutors.
