AMITE, La. (WVUE) - Amite police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning (Oct. 7).

Details are limited, but police say they responded to reports of a shooting in the 400 block of East Factory Street around 5 a.m.

When officers arrived on the scene, they say they found the victim dead from an apparent gunshot wound inside a vehicle parked in the roadway.
