Bestselling Author and LA Icon Joins Gary Phillips for a One-Night-Only Conversation on Oct. 8.

Acclaimed author Walter Mosley, best known for creating the iconic detective Easy Rawlins, will appear in conversation with fellow novelist Gary Phillips at the Wende Museum on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. as part of a special Village Well Books & Café event.

The discussion, titled “Easy Rawlins and Beyond: In Conversation with Walter Mosley,” will celebrate the release of Mosley’s latest novel, Gray Dawn, a new installment in his long-running mystery series. The evening promises an exploration of Mosley’s influential career, his signature characters, and the evolution of Los Angeles as both a setting and an inspiration for his fiction.
