A sharp cold front is sweeping across central Pennsylvania, bringing a significant temperature plunge and a chance of frost that could damage sensitive plants.

The cold front will dramatically cool temperatures today, with highs in some places dropping to the 60s — about 10 degrees cooler than Tuesday. Northwest winds will be gusty, ranging from 15 to 25 mph, creating a brisk autumn feel.

In the Harrisburg area today , expect rain this morning to move out for a sunny afternoon with a high temperature around 70. Temperatures will drop overnight to the 40s.

A freeze watch is in effect for most areas north of Interstate 80 and in the Laurel Highlands, with a freeze warning issued for McKean County.
