KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The recall of Jackson County Executive Frank White Jr, is now official and former Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes has the job. But not for long. In the next month the County Legislature will choose an interim county executive. About a dozen people want the job.

Wednesday night some of those candidates joined Jackson County Legislators Sean Smith and Megan Smith at a public listening session at Lee's Summit's Missouri Innovation Campus.

Thursday at 10 a.m. county legislators will have the same discussion among themselves that will chart the course for selecting the interim county executive.

They laid out the qualities they want in the next person for the job.

"We had integrity, we had honesty, we had independent thinker," Rodrick Sparks said listing off his table's answ
