SEATTLE — Kraken hockey is back in Seattle on Thursday night, as the team's first regular-season game is set for 7 p.m. against the Anaheim Ducks.

It is season five for the Kraken after becoming the National Hockey League's 32nd franchise. KING 5 and KONG are also the exclusive local television home of the Kraken, with 73 regular-season games being on one of or both stations.

A new head coach will be on the bench for the Kraken, as Lane Lambert comes to Seattle after working on the Toronto Maple Leafs' staff last season. The Kraken will be looking to get back to the postseason for the first time since 2023.
