ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The suspect in a deadly shooting at a Clifford Avenue minimart pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter.
30-year-old Ali Saleh was the owner of Sanaa Food Market. On March 23, first responders found him behind the counter of the store with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, but died the next day.
Investigators said 48-year-old Tony Brown was seeking revenge on a store employee for a previous conflict, went to the store, and shot Saleh.
"Tony Brown’s senseless act of violence took a man from the community who represented the best of us," said Monroe County DA Brian Green. "Today’s guilty plea ensures accountability and gives Ali’s family and friends the opportunity to begin healing.”
Brown was in court on Thursday for the guilty plea. H
