With World Homeless Day on Oct. 10, one Scottsdale nonprofit is working to help those experiencing homelessness.
Scottsdale-based Family Promise operates the only shelter model in the Valley that keeps entire families together - including their beloved pets - while providing a path to permanent housing in high-eviction areas, according to a press release.
Some statics of the organization’s operations include:
•73% of families who use the program remain housed two years after leaving.
•38 local faith congregations created a volunteer network serving 66,888 meals last year.
•82 children who avoided homelessness through the Prevention Program.
