The Short-Term Rental Advisory Committee is working to draft a bylaw that it hopes will be ready for the April Town Meeting.

The bylaw will seek to better regulate short-term rental properties and modernize the town’s bylaws to adapt to services like Airbnb and Vrbo.

The committee is studying short-term rental bylaws from neighboring towns such as Provincetown and Plymouth, as well as the original bylaw that was proposed at the November 2024 Town Meeting, which was indefinitely postponed.

With suggestions and input from the committee, member Thomas S. Crane has been tasked with distilling the feedback and edits into one draft bylaw.

With revisions and rewriting underway, the committee began discussing its timeline for next steps at its meeting on September 24.
