LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - Central Virginia Community College is introducing a new Early College Homeschool Cohort , giving local homeschooled high school juniors and seniors the chance to earn college credit before graduation.

This region has one of the largest homeschool populations in Virginia, and CVCC leaders say the program was designed to meet that growing need.

“We have a robust homeschool dual-enrollment population,” said Mark Tinsley, associate vice president of arts and sciences at CVCC. “We didn’t have a specifically dual-enrollment early college program for our homeschool students. And I thought, there’s a place… a place where we could serve our community a little better, is to create an early college program that is cohorted with homeschool students.”
