UAB Athletics Director Mark Ingram announced that the football program is parting ways with head coach Trent Dilfer, a decision that did not surprise many fans given his 9-21 record.

Anna McCracken, a freshman at UAB and a football fan, expressed her dissatisfaction with the team's performance this season, saying, "They needed to get him gone." McCracken added, "I think that's been kind of deterring me from going to games is that it's not very good, not very exciting to watch."

She believes the change was overdue, stating, "I really thought that was going to happen sooner, I thought everyone was kind of anticipating that kind of feeling."
