The teenage leader of a Midland council was reportedly attacked and verbally abused in a town centre.

Warwickshire County Council chief George Finch, 19, was said to have been set upon and branded a "fascist" and a "racist" in Nuneaton town centre late on Friday, October 10.

The Reform UK representative for Bedworth central was out with a female friend when the alleged incident happened.

Police were believed to be investigating the incident. CoventryLive understands the council leader, who was educated in Nuneaton, was not seriously injured but was left shaken by the attack.
