CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - In Christiansburg, dozens of people walked Saturday to raise awareness of the nation’s number one killer.
Every three minutes and 11 seconds, someone in the U.S. dies from a stroke, according to the American Heart Association . It’s a sobering reminder of just how serious heart disease and stroke remain in our hometowns.
That’s why the American Heart Association and people in the NRV community took a step, literally, toward awareness and action.
Each year, the organization hosts heart walks across the country, including right here at home.
