HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - The Henry County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Sunday night after a chase.

About 9:30 p.m. October 12, 2025, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a white Nissan Sentra in the parking lot of Eden Jewelry on Memorial Boulevard in Martinsville, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle involved in a larceny at a Dollar General store on Jack Dalton Road in Martinsville.

The Sheriff’s Office says upon approaching the vehicle, deputies identified the driver as Darris Simmons, 37, who matched the description of the man involved in the Dollar General incident, based on surveillance footage.
