MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - The U.S. Senate passed its version of next year’s defense bill.

The Senate version of the National Defense Authorization Act provides a 3.8% pay raise for military members.

It also provides funding to keep the Sentinel program and upgrades to the B-52s on track.

The bill also mentions provisions to improve UAS and space force operations.

“This NDAA recognizes the need to deter our adversaries. To do that, we need to invest in our offensive capabilities and our innovation,” said Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-North Dakota.

Lawmakers in both chambers will need to settle their differences to bring a final bill to President Donald Trump’s desk.
