WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Harvey County man has been sentenced to prison for child sex crimes.

Matthew Ratzlaff, 38, of Burrton, was sentenced last week in district court to just over 25 years in prison. He pleaded guilty in August to kidnapping and two counts of aggravated indecent solicitation of a child.

The crimes happened between Aug. 1 and Oct. 1, 2024, according to court records. Harvey County Attorney Heather Figger said the victim was under 10 when the crimes took place.

"Sex crimes committed against children in our community are some of the most terrible crimes we see committed, and my office is dedicated to holding the offenders accountable while achieving justice for the most vulnerable members of our community," Figger said in a news release.
