WASHINGTON — Some Israelis and Palestinians in the US have described what they are feeling as "cautious optimism" about the Gaza peace deal .
While they are happy with the developments, they said we cannot forget the trauma and loss both groups have lived through, and the lasting damage that has been created.
The President of the Arab American Institute , James Zogby, said he is worried about people celebrating too early.
"Donald Trump took the first step, but there are many more steps to take. And I don't want to see a premature victory lap,” said Zogby.
He said the hard work has just begun if lasting peace is the goal .
The CEO of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington , Rob Halber, agreed.
“People are hoping that today is more than a tactical pause,
