GRAHAM, Wash. — Two people died Monday in a house fire in Graham.

Crews with Central Pierce Fire and Rescue responded to the fire in the 27600 block of Webster Road East about 11 a.m. Neighbors called 911 to report smoke coming from the two-story home.

One person was found unconscious inside the home during the initial search and was given CPR. However, they died from their injuries. A second person was later found deceased.

Officials say they were husband and wife and both in their 70s.

One of the complicating factors in fighting this house fire was there were not hydrants nearby. Central Pierce Fire and Rescue District Chief Ron Kent said crews had to bring in multiple water tenders to help battle the flames.
