AUSTIN, Texas — A ground delay is affecting flights at Austin’s airport on on one of the busiest days for travel after the Austin City Limits Music Festival and ahead of the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The Federal Aviation Administration issued the ground delay in Austin until 9 p.m. on Monday due to staffing issues.
Flights heading into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport are delayed an average of 40 minutes.
Officials with Austin's airport said they expected more than 35,000 passengers to travel through the airport on Monday.
Last week, other airports around the country issued delays due to staffing amid the ongoing government shutdown.
