LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. — Kayla Jeffers and Jordan Daub knew they were going to have a big baby. Her previous babies were born at 8 pounds 13 ounces and 9 pounds and 13 ounces. But what she didn't expect was that the first boy in the family would be so big.
"My doctor was like, 'How much do you think he's gonna weigh?'" she said. "I said twelve and a half pounds. Yeah, he was way over that."
Jeffers was scheduled to have a caesarean section birth in late September, but doctors rescheduled it two weeks before her due date because her baby was already 12 pounds and two ounces. Two weeks later, when he was born, he'd weighed over a pound more.
"I was big and miserable," she said. "I hate to say that, but it was a struggle throughout the pregnancy."
