KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Transportation will be doing intermittent lane closures on I-275 starting Monday night.

The lane closures on I-275 North and South are to allow for the installation of final pavement markings and traffic control devices at the bridge over Elm Street and Bernard Avenue.

The lane closures will take place nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night through Friday morning, October 17.

Mark Nagi, a TDOT spokesperson, said crews will be putting "some of the final touches" on the Accelerated Bridge Construction project to replace the bridge connecting Elm St. and Bernard Ave. underneath the interstate.

"This is a project that is going to serve East Tennesseans for decades to come," Nagi said.
