ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas — The Angelina County Sheriff's Office is mourning a Texas Parks and Wildlife office who died this week of cancer.
Assistant Commander Chad Gartman passed away Oct. 12 after a lengthy battle with cancer, ACSO said. He was 52 years old.
Sheriff Tom Selman and the Angelina County extended their condolences to Gartman's family over social media. He was the son-in-law of retired sheriff Kent Henson.
"Please join us in lifting up Assistant Commander Gartman's family, friends and fellow law enforcement officers in prayer during this time of loss," a spokesperson for Angelina County Sheriff's Office said. "As Sheriff Henson stated, 'God is in control!'. Always has been. Always will be. Thank you for your service, Chad."
