The Srimandir Security Committee has decided to implement a complete ban on mobile phones inside the Jagannath Temple in Puri.

Even police personnel and servitors will not be allowed to carry phones within the premises.

Committee chief Girish Chandra Murmu announced the decision after a high-level meeting focused on enhancing security inside and around the temple. To ensure smooth communication, authorities will introduce a walkie-talkie system for essential coordination.

The committee discussed multiple aspects of temple safety, including crowd control, surveillance, and emergency response. Officials emphasized that the new rules aim to protect the sanctity of the temple and improve visitor experience, not to inconvenience anyone.
