GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Grand Island Police Department Division Chief Dean Elliott told Local4 that shots were fired near a residence at Oklahoma Ave. and Sunny Valley Dr. around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Confirmed details are limited at the moment, but one male was taken into custody by Nebraska State Patrol troopers, according to Elliott.

Authorities are still on the scene and blocking off the area as of 8 a.m.

According to a Facebook post by the Nebraska State Patrol, no one was injured and a suspect is in custody.

NSP urged people to stay away from the area as the investigation continues.
