This Halloween, the David Traylor Zoo of Emporia expects a large crowd of costumed families for its annual Zoo in the Boo.

From 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Boo in the Zoo lets local families trick-or-treat around the zoo. 10 to 12 candy stations, each armed with enough candy to feed at least 1,00 children, are scattered throughout the space, while volunteers from the Emporia Police Department and Emporia Fire Department, Emporia Friends of the Zoo Board members, and sponsoring businesses, operate Halloween-themed educational stations and pass out candy. The Carnival Cafe will be open and passing out bagged lunches and dinners.
